Overview of Ultraviolet LED

Ultraviolet LED  generally refer to LEDs with a central wavelength below 400nm, but sometimes they are referred to as near UV LEDs when the wavelength is greater than 380nm, and deep UV LEDs when the wavelength is shorter than 300nm. Due to the high sterilization effect of short wavelength light, ultraviolet LEDs are commonly used for sterilization and deodorization in refrigerators and household appliances.

The wavelength classification of UVA/UVB/UVC is not repeated, and the author is accustomed to writing it as UV-c according to current communication conventions. (Unfortunately, many places are written as UV-C, or UVC, etc.)

The standard laser reading and writing wavelength of the 405nm Blu ray Disk is also a type of near-ultraviolet light.

265nm – 280nm UV-c band.

UV LEDs are mainly used in biomedical, anti-counterfeiting identification, purification (water, air, etc.), sterilization and disinfection fields, computer data storage, and military (such as LiFi invisible light secure communication).

And with the development of technology, new applications will continue to emerge to replace existing technologies and products.

UV LED has broad market application prospects, such as UV LED phototherapy equipment being a popular medical device in the future, but the technology is still in the growth stage.
